Nithyashree's sancharam in brindavana saranga

The popular singer Nithyashree's concert for Chennayil Thiruvaiyaru on the inaugural day was remarkable for melody, variety and virtuosity.

Nithya began her concert with an invocation to Lord Ganesha –Srivignarajam bhaje in Gambhira nattai by Oothukadu venkata Subbier.

The often sung composition of Thayagarja –Manasa etulo in Malayamarutham gleamed with grandeur.

Her essay of Nalinakanthi was a splash on the canvas of music. The composition of Muthuthandavar –Esane koti surya in nalinakanthi was a brilliant presentation. Sriranga puravihara made popular by MS Subbulakshmi in Brindavana saranga was received with thunderous applause from the audience as soon as Nithyashree started the song composed by Muthuswamy Dikshitar. Her full throated rendering of the song satiated senses.

Nithyashree's main piece was a composition of Swathi Thirunal –Rama rama guna sema in Simhendra Madhyamam. The raga was delineated with panache and she displayed her vidwat by elaborating the raga which flowed like a swift stream.

The vocalist niraval of Munimanasa elongated with notes and her swara sallies has aesthetic beauty. She altered between Mohanam and Shanmukapriya for the song Muruga and Krishna which sounded different and unique. She alternated between the ragas deftly.

The violin accompaniment of M A Krishnaswamy was classy as true to his school –Parur.I Sivakumar , father of Nithyashree played scholarly to match his daughters presentation.

H Sivaramakrishnan on ghatam was outstanding,’V V S Manian on kanjira was excellent. They trio played in concordance and their tani was adhered to displayed technical virtuosity.
