Biriyani Music Review

The band of brothers team up for a milestone film in Yuvan Shankar Raja’s career. The 100th film of the composer, Biriyani, is directed by Venkat Prabhu under the banner of Studio Green. The film stars Karthi, Hansika and Premgi. The album contains 6 original tracks and a couple of remixes.Huge expectation for Biriyani album as it marks the 100th album for Yuvan and his fans all over the world are ready to celebrate the album. Yuvan and Venkat Prabhu are known for their tremendous track record in the past that every album in their combination was super hit.

Biryani (Bhavatharini, Tanvi Shah, Vilasini)

The number starts with gentle flute music with western background and as usual Yuvan killed the number with his trendy stylish beats all over. Bhavatharini and Tanvi Shah’s vocals add more urban feel to the song, apart from singing Tanvi Shah also contributed the English lyrics for the song.

Nahna Na Nah(Devan Ekambaram)

Guess this is the song which Venkat Prabhu shot in Broadway style. The song also has a interesting intro as it marks the combination of the young generation amalgamation of Ilaiyaraaja and Vairamuthu family. Yes, for the first time Yuvan and Madhan Karky have come together for this song. The song starts with a interesting melody later it shifts to the retro kind of music and also Broadway musical. Once again Madhan Karky comes up with interesting lyrics “ Nenjey Thaakidum Isaiyey Nilladi, Unakai theetiya Variyo nee… Kekatha Padala un Kai Korkovaa” Madhan Karky is the best when using this kind of interesting Uvamai. Rahul Nambiar and Ramya NSK vocal’s add more novelty to the song, looking forward for the grand visuals.

Pom Pom Penne(Rahul Nambiar, Ramya NSK)

The London based Susheela Raman, known for her enthralling live performances makes an entry to Tamil cinema through this beautifully constructed song. Again, Girishh is unwavering in his effort to allow the melody to go where it pleases as opposed to chaining it within walls of the contemporary. The track has a heavy lounge anthem feel and that may attributed to Susheela’s singing, which comes off as accented in certain places. The clever stop-starts, the seamless entry-exits of various instruments show a composer under complete control of the situation.

Mississippi( Karthi, Premgi Amaren, Priya Himesh)

Mark our words, this song is going to chart buster of the year. Again looking into the lyrics our beloved Vaaliba Kavingar spills height of youth factor to the song with trendy lyrics. “ Mississippi Mississipi nathi ithu, Venice Katil Venice Katil nadakuthu, pacific il pacificil Kalapadhu padukayil Poraduthu, Naadhan unnai mechumpadi nadakutum Kuchupudi” , definitely another lyricist is yet to born so that he can give these kind of extra-ordinary youthful lyrics to our music directors.

Run for your Life( Gaana Bala, PSYCHO.unit)

A Hip hop number from Yuvan and it marks the combination of Psycho unit and Gana Bala who are the latest sensations of Kollywood. Only Yuvan can opt for such combinations and opt for a different genre. If Psycho unit adds a club flavour to the song, the Gaana Bala adds the TASMAC feel to the song. Guess the song will be a situational song in the film, the Mankatha ending will strike big with Venkat Prabhu and Ajith fans.

Edhirthu Nil(D. Imman, G. V. Prakash Kumar, S. Thaman, Vijay Antony)

Yuvan is known for his high pitch energetic number and here comes a number analogous to his previous best in Saroja. The song starts with Yuvan’s voice later joins GV Prakash,Vijay Anntony,Imman and Thaman. Again the song ends with Yuvan’s voice a brilliant idea, again the song might be used as a montage number in the film. Venkat Prabhu is known for placing such songs with apt visuals, might be a kick ass for sure

Nahna Na Nah (New Jack Swing Mix)

The New Jack swing fix of the Nah Nah number adds a new flavour to the melodious song. The DJ Kind of mix is interesting and work with urban western lovers.

Nahna Na Nah(Extended Dance Mix);Singers: Premgi Amaren, Yuvan Shankar Raja)

The Extended dance mix with Premgi ‘s vocals dominating it to the maximum. Yuvan is known for these kind of dance mixes in his album and he once again comes out with flying colours. A sure shot aprty number to rock the floor. Forget to mention 'O***' Premgi style, don't miss it!
