Fresh, refresh
(Goa – Music Review)
Call it a hat-trick. For Yuvan Shankar Raja has repeated the magic for Venkat Prabhu after ‘Chennai 600028’ and ‘Saroja’. All the songs are not just fresh, but they refresh the listeners. A cocktail of conventional and  contemporary music, the audio album of ‘Goa’ is no doubt a gift for music lovers.

The list of singers makes one stunned for it has got the names of the likes of Illayaraja, S P Balasubramanyam, Chitra, Andrea, Mamtha Mohandas, Karthik Raja, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Bhavatharani, Venkat Prabhu and Premji.

1. Yelu Thalamurakkum

Singers: Karthik Raja, Venkat Prabhu, Bhavatharani, Premji and Yuvan This is what you can call a typical family song. Check out the singers who have come together to sing the number- all from the family of Illayaraja and Gangai Amaran. More a folkish tune, the soft melody is sure to make the listener brisk.

2. Ooru Nalla Ooru

Singers: Illayaraja The master of music has crooned the song. It is a soft melody, quite appropriate for Illayaraja kind of voice. Orchestration by Yuvan is cool. The song speaks about the native village and its highlights.

3. Adida Nayaandiya

Singers: S P B Charan, Yugendran The Illayaraja in Yuvan would be visible when you listen to it. A song reflecting the festival mood, Charan and Yugendran, sons of  veterans SPB and Malaysia Vasudevan respectively, work out wonders with their voices.

4. Goa....

Singers: Krish, Ranjith, Tanvi, Suchitra, Chynk Showtyme and Pav Bundy The theme song of the album. It is a trendy Westernised number, speaking the spirit of Goa, the ultimate choice of many tourists. The rhythm, beats, harmony and above all apt singers give a refreshing feel from the beginning till end.

5. Idhu Varai

Singers: Ajeesh and Andrea After proving herself in acting, Andrea proves herself as a singer too. Her sweet voice coupled with that of Ajeesh takes the listener to a romantic world. Yuvan’s composition is so stylish. Trendy all the way, the song is pleasant to listen to.

6. Vaaliba Vaa Vaa

Singer: Illayaraja, S P Balasubramaniam and Chitra Look who have sung the number. Doing them justice is Yuvan, who with his musical score gives the song an ‘inviting feel’. This single number is enough to speak of Yuvan's mastery over the medium.

7. Kaadal Endral

Singer: Yuvan Shankar Raja A short but sweet number from the junior Raja. Yuvan's voice mesmerises the listeners and explains well the pain of a lover.

8. Idaivazhi Oru

Singers: Benny Dayal and Mamtha Mohandas It’s now the turn of Mamha Mohandas to prove her prowess in singing. The song which starts slowly, gains momentum as its progresses, and ends up in a fast note. In short, it is a romantic number which would make many a youth dance.

9. Goa (Club-Mix)......

Singer: Yuvan Shankar Raja One for the dance-floors, a preferred destination of Venkat Prabhu & Co, if reports are to be believed. It is racy and riveting and oozes with youthful energy all along. On the whole, listening to Goa’s songs is like is spending a vacation in Goa. A spending show by Yuvan Shankar Raja indeed.
