Music and Madarasapattinam
(Madarsapattinam - Music Review)

A period film by director Vijay starring Arya, 'Madarasapattinam' has aroused great expectations. G V Prakash has scored the music for Na Muthukumar's lyrics. All the songs have been carefully crafted by Prakash giving a mesmerising feel.

The likes of Udit Narayan, Hariharan, M S V, Vikram and Nasser singing, the album is sure to woo music-lovers.

Vaama Duraiyamma

It is Udit Narayan special. It is a song that explains a White Lady about the customs of Tamil culture. The highlight is G V Prakash using soft flute with peppy beats. Muthukumar’s lyrics are crips and clear.

Aaruyire

A typical G V Prakash number with good background music. The romantic song with Sonu Nigam’s voice is fun to listen to. Saindhavi gives him good company.

Pookal Pookum

The tabla, keyboard and flute blend well here. Kudos to GV Prakash for giving a freshness with his music. Rathod and Harini combine well and a small bit sung by Andrea Jeremiah is cool.

Megame o Megame

It is a special song with the likes of M S Viswanathan, Vikram and Nasser singing about washermen's life in the early 1940s.Prakash’s beat matches with the song’s mood.

Kaatrile

Love stands war. This is the central theme behind this song. The beginning of the song with a loud tone chorus depicts the crucial juncture of the number in the film. Hariharan rocks.

Feel of Love

A brief number which will perhaps be used as background music during romance. A catchy fusion that is mesmerising.
