Shark is sharp
(Sura – Music Review)
Vijay's songs are synonymous to fast beats and peppy rhythms. Primarily targeted at the youngsters and children, all his songs in the recent days begin at brisk pace with catchy lyrics, but for one or two melodious numbers in a film.

Mani Sharma has made a name for himself in both Kollywood and Tollywood, thanks to his catchy tunes. Obviously, the two with high energy get united to render a catchy treat for ears in 'Sura'.

Like their earlier ventures ‘Youth’ and ‘Pokkiri’, songs from ‘Sura’ too have got all the ingredients to woo the youngsters, especially the fans of Vijay. A close look at the music album of Vijay's 50th film may reveal more.

Thanjavoor Jillakkari

Singers: Hemachandra and Saindhavi
Lyricist: Na Muthukumar

A fast and racy song which would provide Vijay with ample opportunities to shake legs. Hemachandra and Saindhavi add that essential pep to this duet. Though the beats remind a few songs composed by Mani Sharma before, the song is no doubt a straight six from the music composer’s bat.

Vetri Kodi Yethu

Singers: Ranjith and Mukesh
Lyricists: Vaali, S P Rajakumar

Helping Vaali in this song is the film’s director S P Rajakumar. A number with lot of energy is Vetri Kodi Yethu, which talks about the hero and his achievements. Ranjith’s voice is bright as usual.

Vanga Kadal Ellai

Singers: Naveen and Malathy Lakshmanan
Lyricist: Kabilan

When we have Malathy Lakshmanan at the helm of affairs, what else than an energetic number can we expect. Aptly accompanied by Naveen, Malathy is at it again---- a racy song that would strike an instant chord among the audience.

Siragadikkum Nilavu

Singers: Karthik and Reeta
Lyrics: Snehan

A fast paced melodious song, Karthik and Reeta rightly convey the expressions of the hero and the heroine with their voice. Mani Sharma's composition is noteworthy, while lyrics by Snehan are praiseworthy.

Thamizhan Veera Thamizhan

Singer: Rahul Nambiar
Lyricist: Kabilan

Targeted at the die-hard fans of Vijay, 'Thamizhan Veera Thamizhan...' starts of with a catchy tune. Adding energy to it is Rahul Nambiar’s voice This number sings paeans on the hero’s dynamism.

Naan Nadanthal Adhiradi

Singers: Naveen, Shoba Chandrasekar, Janani Madhan
Lyricist: Kabilan

This number is crooned by Vijay’s mother Shoba Chandrasekar, Naveen, and Janani. The song starts of with some excellent ‘string’ work and continues with drums that make it a semi-fast number. There are some English lyrics too. A catchy song it is.
