Valeba Raja Songs Review

Valeba Raja is a film written and directed by Sai Gokul Ramnath and is being billed as India's first psycho-comedy film. The movie stars Sethu of Kanna Laddu Thinna Asaiya fame along with Vishaka Singh and Nushrat Barucha in the company of Santhanam.

Oru Naal Oru Naal(Bobo Sashi, Veena Ghantasala ,Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar)

A groovy duet again in a R&B styled template. As a singer Bobo Sashi sounds a lot like Yuvan Shankar Raja but its Veena Ghantasala’s melodic hook which wins us over with her great low octave singing. Good fusion of synth and Sitar in the interludes shows Radhan’s urge to offer something new for the listeners.

Ennamo Pannura(Rajan, Ramee, Lyrics: Radhan)

The album opener is a typical R&B tune with an injection of kuthu beats and native percussions for the local audience. The composition is quite hip with a groovy vocal performance and funky lyrics. The occasional piano touches and steady rhythm makes it entertaining.

Va Madhi Vadhana ( blaaze, Mukesh,Lyrics: Madan Karky)

Right at the heart of the album is this crazy dancefloor mix of carnatic and rap styles. Blaaze does his job to perfection with his high energy delivery of rhymes but despite moments of the ideas sounding disjointed the track does offer some mindless fun.

Nadu Kadalula(Gana Bala)

While it seems almost apparent that a soundtrack is incomplete without a Gana Bala song, there’s also an increasing trend of building lyrics based on popular dialogues/songs. This is one such song where the idea may have been a hit on paper but the execution misses the mark despite Bala’s committed delivery which offers mild amusement.

Ice Cream Penne (Remix)(Arjun)

The remix version of ‘Ennamo Pannura’ arrives with additional layers of loops (re-arranged by Charles Bosco) and English lyrics, which seems to work better for the tune and in evoking a good performance from the singer Arjun.
