CM launches 'Kanimozhi' audio
The music of the film 'Kanimozhi' was launched in Chennai on Thursday by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi. The function was attended by State Ministers, Tamil Film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan and Vijay among others.

Speaking after releasing the first copy of the CD, Karunanidhi said, "My pen will continue to write all through my life. It will never retire."

"I am always fond of the name Kanimozhi. Even in my literary works, I have always named a character Kanimozhi. When my daughter was born, I decided that she should be named Kanimozhi."

He further said that he would soon lay the foundation stone to construct houses for members of the film fraternity. "Land has been allotted for the purpose and a launch function will be held soon," he said amidst thunderous applause.

Rama Narayanan thanked the Chief Minister for his 'gifts' to the industry including waiving of tax to films which have Tamil titles. Vijay, in his address, wished Karunanidhi a healthy and long life. "The society in general and the industry in particular needs his service," the actor said.

Produced by T Siva of Amma Creations and actress Sona, 'Kanimozhi' is directed by debutant Sripathi Rangasamy with Jai and Shazahn Padamsee playing the lead. Music is by Satheesh Chakravarthy.
