CM launches ‘Nagaram Marupakkam’ music

The audio of ‘Nagaram Marupakkam’, a film directed by Sundar C and produced by Khushboo, was launched by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at a function in Chennai Saturday evening.

Speaking on the occasion, he urged filmmakers to make movies that reflect the culture and tradition of the land. “Tamil movies should reflect the culture of the land. Filmmakers should create awareness among the people on various issues and propagate rationalism,” he said.

Stating that he was impressed with a song screened from ‘Nagaram Marupakkam’ at the function, the Chief Minister said that there were days when movies made in Tamil failed to hail the language and the land.

The first copy of Nagaram's music album, which has songs composed by Thaman S, was released by the Chief Minister and received by actor Kamal Haasan in the presence of Tamil Film Producers Council president Ramanarayanan, heroine of the film Anuya, Sundar and Khushboo.

In his address, Kamal Haasan said, “Sundar and Khushboo are my friends. Functions I look forward to such events because I can meet the CM here. But that's not to say he is not accessible to us at other times. He is one Chief Minister whom we can always meet.”

Thanking Karuanidhi and Kamal, Sundar said, “this is an unforgettable day in my life having Kalaignar and Kamal at my audio launch. The comedy tracks in my films are inspired by the humour sense of the CM.” Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin and Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi were also present.
