Falling in love (Mundhinam Paartheney – Music Review)
Love stories always provide music composers more scope. Thaman has experienced it in ‘Mundhinam Paartheney’, a film directed by newcomer Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Manickam Narayanan for Seventh Channel.

The album is a collage of breezy songs which could make the listener fall in love with it. Known for heavy beats in his earlier ventures, Thaman has opted for soft songs this time, quite appropriate to the movie’s title.

Let’s have a look at the music album of ‘Mundhinam Paartheney’, which has Sanjay, Pooja, Ekta and Lizna in pivotal roles.

Indre Indre (Ranjith)

Soft accompaniment of instruments make the song penned by Priyan an interesting listening. Adding to it are Ranjith's vocals, which make the number a soothing experience from the beginning till end.

Pesum Poove (Krish, Suchitra)

Penned by Viveka, this one too is soft and melodious. It’s all about the feeling of a love-lorn youth. Giving the number a perfect feel are Krish and Suchitra whose voices ooze with that romantic feel. Less instrumentation is an advantage.

Manadhin Adiyil (Priyadarshini)

Priyan's lyrics and Priyadarshini’s voice are the strengths of the song, whose soul lies in the composition of Thaman. Priyan’s lyrics are simple and catchy, while Priyadarshini’s voice suits it really well. Accompanying both is Thaman’s music, which is a fusion of  various classical ragas.

Maya (Naresh Iyer, Janani)

Thaman is at his favourite territory. A brisk song, heavy instrumentation eats away the lyrics penned by Rohini. A déjà vu feel prevails all through. But still, ‘Maya…’ is interesting to listen to.

Kanavena (Haricharan, Suchitra)

Suchitra and Haricharan go great guns in this song. The female singer’s sweet tone accompanied by brief interludes from Haricharan is the highpoint of this number. Rohini has penned simple yet stylish lyrics.

Mundhinam Paarthen (Thaman, Suchitra)

It’s advantage Thaman. For the music composer himself has sung the number along with Suchitra, the superstar of this album. Penned by Priyan, the song is a feel-good melody with good instrumentation.

To sum it up, ‘Mundhinam Parthaney’ by Thaman is fresh, cool and trendy. It has all the essential ingredients to woo music lovers, especially those who are in love.
