the Grammy is the ultimate recognition for any
musician," says Tanvi Shah, the 'Jai Ho' girl who
received the Grammy Award recently, along with
composer A R Rahman.
Elaborating on her
experiences at the international event, the singer
says, "I was nervous. I had to represent India. A
cousin helped me choose the outfit. I wore a lot of
make-up. It was crazy."
An elated Tanvi says, "I felt like Cindrella when
the announcement was made that 'Jai Ho' had won the
race. I was on cloud nine. My joy knew no bounds."
And what she did after winning the award? "I
called my mom in Chennai,
waking her up at the wee hours. I also messaged
Augustine Paul, under whom I have been training for
more than seven years."
