I live to sing: Benny Dayal
"I have no expectations. I just want to be recognised as a good singer and make people happy with my songs. I live to sing," says Benny Dayal, arguably one of the most happening young singers of Tamil cinema.

"Music is one of the greatest sources of energy. It gives you faith. It has the power to make people come out of tough times and feel better. It's the best way to express one's emotions," the singer says in a recent interview.

Heaping praises on A R Rahman, Dayal says, "I went to him and hummed a few lines. He seemed pretty impressed with my style and made me sing the final take. That was the turning point in life. Rahman doesn't advise anyone. He is very calm and never loses his temper. He makes things easier for the singer and looks at work as fun."

Benny Dayal says he likes Shankar Mahadevan a lot. "I admire and adore him to a fanatical extent," he says.
