Rahman thanks Chief Minister
Music maestro A R Rahman has thanked the Chief Minister M Karunanidhi for greeting him on bagging two Grammy awards for Slumdog Millionaire, according to an official release.

On Tuesday, the octogenarian politician congratulated the Mozart of Madras for his double victory at the Grammys, the highest honour in music.

In his telegram to Rahman, a copy of which was released to the media, the Chief Minister said, "I am extremely happy that you have been rightly chosen for two prestigious Grammy Awards. Tamilnadu feels proud on this grand occasion of her son getting the highest global awards. I convey my hearty congratulations to you for attaining the top position in music."

It may be recalled that Rahman, who is set to score music for a theme song penned by Karunanidhi for the World Classic Tamil Conference scheduled at Coimbatore in June, called on the Chief Minister recently. During the meeting, the octogenarian hoped that the music composer would emerge triumph at the Grammys.
