A mid-air audio launch for Soorarai Pottru

The launch of the single track titled Veyyon Silli from Suriya’s upcoming film Soorarai Pottru was held with a huge fanfare at the Chennai airport.

It was first-of-its-kind, as the actor took 70 kids from varioous government schools with him and launched the single inside the flight mid-air.

They were selected based on an essay writing competition on their 'biggest and fondest dreams'. For all 70 kids, this was their very first flying experience.

President of SpiceJet Ajay Singh and actor Suriya were present inside the flight for the music launch. The aircraft was reportedly in flight for about 45-minutes, during which time the song’s audio-visual was played to the guests present inside the flight. At the end of the audio launch, the passengers deboarded at the Chennai International Airport.

Talking to newspersons about the movie, actor Suriya said, 'I was really inspired by Gopinath’s book, Simply Fly. He changed aviation in 2002, and we thought it was an important story to be said. For me, this is the first biopic.'

'The film’s theme resonates with SpiceJet’s vision of making every Indian fly. We are delighted to be playing a small part in what Suriya and his team are doing. Air Deccan is an incredible story that needs to be told. He made so many people fly in this country. We try to carry forward his legacy. I am delighted that a movie is made on this subject,' said Ajay Singh

Suriya, who was last seen in Kaappaan, will be playing the role of a pilot named Nedumaran Rajangam in this film. Based on the life of Captain GR Gopinath, founder of the budget airline Air Deccan, this film has been produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and Bollywood producer Guneet Monga.

Music composer GV Prakash, director Sudha Kongara, actor Sivakumar and Aparna Balamurali was also part of the event.
