Need to safeguard our resources A R Rahman

Learning from the past experiences on the water crisis in Tamilnadu, the Water Matters exhibition was inaugurated by music director A R Rahman at Periyar Institute of Science and Technology, Gandhi Mandapam Road, Monday.

State Higher Education Minister K P Anbalagan, U S Consul General Robert G Burgess, Care Earth Trust founder Jayashree Vencatesan and Tamilnadu Additional Chief Secretary Hans Raj Varma participated.

Speaking on the occasion, Rahman said, 'Water is crucial to our lives and we need to safeguard our resources. It is important to make sure that the next generation has clean water. I hope this exhibition will remind people to use water judiciously,'

Highlighting the water crisis Chennai has seen in the past, he decided to join hands on this project to promote water conservation and spread awareness and educate the youth regarding its use.

The composer is set to launch 'Hands around the world', a water anthem project in hollywood comprising many renowned singers soon.
