Double Oscar- winner A R Rahman was chosen to present the Lata Mangeshkar award for Lifetime achievement to playback singer Asha Bonsle at the Chevrolet Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA) in Mumbai.

Speaking on the occasion, Rahman said, 'My father used to have a picture of Lataji with him. Every morning he used to look at the picture and compose songs. I am so happy that I got the opportunity of presenting this award to her. If my father would have been alive today, he would have really felt nice.'

Meanwhile Rahman is collaborating with SIumdog Millionaire fame Danny Boyle for a movie titled 127 Hours.
